Where To Start With Your Brand’s TikTok Strategy


With the app available in over 150 countries and with over 1 billion users, TikTok has quickly become the most downloaded entertainment platform in the world with the most opportunities to go ‘viral’. Growing in popularity, content creators and brands have been able to grow their audience, increase engagement, drive traffic and reach millions of users worldwide for free!

As a brand, TikTok is probably not at the top of your list when it comes to marketing opportunities. If you’re on the fence about using the app, then it’s time to strap in and hop on the trend!

If you’re up for the challenge but need a bit of help with the strategy for your brand page, look no further. Here are three ideas to get you started and help you along the way…

Find Trends

The explore page is there for a reason. Every morning, scroll through your feed and use your ‘for you’ page to help guide you through the trending topics. Once you find one you like the look of and that you could associate with your business, then go for it! Although useful, trends really do come and go extremely quickly so my advice would be to film and upload your ‘trend’ video as soon as you see it, you don’t want to miss the opportunity.

Choose Your Niche

In order to turn a viewer into a follower, you need to find your niche. Your niche could be anything, but ensure it is somewhat related to your brand. By focusing on a niche topic, you’ll have more flexibility to be creative, have fun and find a gap for your business to make an impact. A fantastic example of a company that does this is Ryanair. Their chosen niche is to use the ‘I’m Lost’ eye filter on their planes. Users quickly convert to followers when they realise that their whole page is made up of these hilarious videos.

Promote Your Offering

As a business on TikTok, you obviously have a product to sell. This doesn’t have to be boring. Why not promote a product, sale or anything you have to offer, by using a feature or features on TikTok. A great way to do this is using the ‘green screen’ feature. A brand that does this incredibly well is Swan Brand.
